Constitution for FSANZ (Free Software Aotearoa New Zealand) association.

Free software is software which preserves the freedom of users to modify and share software. We recognise these four rights that you, as a user of the software, must have:

0. The freedom to run the program, for any purpose.
1. The freedom to study how the program works, and adapt it to your needs.
2. The freedom to redistribute copies so you can help your neighbour.
3. The freedom to improve the program, and release your improvements to the public, so that the whole community benefits.

Objects

0. The name of the Club shall be Free Software Aotearoa New Zealand ('FSANZ').
1. The club shall promote and defend Free Software and software democracy.
2. Priority will be given to items particularly relating to Aotearoa New Zealand.
3. The club communication channel may be http://lists.ourshack.com/mailman/listinfo/gnuz
4. The club shall encourage affiliation to the Free Software Foundation (FSF) of Boston USA.
5. The club shall advocate for, and facilitate technical contributions to, the FSF GNU Project.
6. The club anticipates establishment of a Free Software Oceania (FSO) federation, for FSF affiliation.
7. The club shall aid development of the Free and Open-Source Software movement (FOSS), internationally.

Membership
1. FSANZ will grant membership to anyone who wishes to promote the objectives of the organisation.
